How effective is the combination of your main product with ancillary texts?

Unfortunatley I did not have a full editing software program so my podcast has a watermark over it but this can always be redone on different software if it needs to be.

Transcript:
Both of my ancillary texts are very similar to each other, they both use the colour blue and the image on the digipack is a smaller image of the picture used on the advert. I did this because I liked the synergy between the two and the way it made the products easily recognisable for the audience. I thought by keeping the same colour scheme and same font it would help to make it more recognisable for people.

I thought my products helped to support my music video as they give the feel that it is a singer song writer, or indie artists which is appropriate for my music video. I thought that the light colours are quite neutral and help make it appeal to a wider audience.

Even though there isn't any imagery from my music video I think my ancillary texts support my main product as the digipak is called 'so high' and so is the song my music video was made around. However I took an abstract approach in the video and this wasn't really suitable for the ancillary products as it wouldn't make much sense. So I used an image of being on a plane, seeing the sky and the earth below and being literally so high.

Overall I feel like my ancillary texts worked well with my main product. I recieved good feedback from my focus group also which secures my belief in this.

  1. I haven't been able to view the video on my mac at home but the transcript appears to be very thin in terms of actual discussion. You haven't really demonstrated that you understand what synergy is and how these texts operate together in terms of a way of marketing your artist.
